SHELF PORTRAIT #01 MIN-NANO

Introduction

Key visual of "SHELF PORTRAIT #01 MIN-NANO." From Oct 10th to 25th,2026.

Good shops are filled with good things and experiences.
Behind them is someone who chose them.

What do they choose?
What do they preserve?
What do they want to share?

Look closely at what's on the shelves,
and you begin to get a sense
of what catches that person's interest,
and the people and cultures they've encountered along the way.

SHELF PORTRAIT
draws a "portrait" of the people behind shops and brands
through the things they keep on their shelves.

Our first guest is GORO, owner of MIN-NANO in Ikenoue.
Through 30 questions,
we explore the clothes, everyday objects, music, bikes, and other things and experiences that make up his world.

Take a look at someone's shelves, and you might get a glimpse into who they are.

When I go to a shop I've never been to before, I like to look into every corner of it.
Sometimes a shop blows me away; other times, something about it just resonates with me.

In a way, the MIN-NANO of today is a mix of all the things I've seen
since I got into fashion as a teenager.
The piles of treasure behind the counter and in glass cases—things the shop wasn't even selling.
The music playing, the sound equipment, the chairs and other furniture, the bikes hanging from the ceiling,
and the motorcycles and cars outside.
I learned so much from all of it.

During this time, I was also playing in a band and working a job transporting music equipment,
which took me beyond Tokyo's main districts to some cool buildings and neighborhoods.
Along the way, I developed a knack for spotting buildings that might have a bathroom.

Even now, when I try to work out who I am,
I feel a bit incomplete, as if something is missing.
But maybe that's a strength, too.
And I'd be thrilled if the mix of things I've gathered along the way
inspires someone else.

Program

From "SHELF PORTRAIT #01 MIN-NANO" at Ginza Sony Park B2. Outerwear, caps, plush toys, books, and a bicycle frame are arranged on racks made of metal pipes and wooden shelves, with a desk and chair set in the center.

Ginza Sony Park is launching "SHELF PORTRAIT," a new exhibition series that spotlights the people behind various shops and brands.
The first installment is a collaboration with GORO, who runs MIN-NANO in Ikenoue.
Shelves on B2 at Ginza Sony Park will feature items GORO has collected over the years, objects he has cherished, and pieces from MIN-NANO's archives.
The exhibition will also feature GORO's answers to 30 questions about who he is and how he chooses the things around him. There are also plans to sell original merch made especially for the exhibition.
