It features photographs capturing iconic scenes from the film, as well as a spatial audio experience of the theme song "Luminance."

Since its release in June 2025, 'KOKUHO' has broken the domestic box-office record for a Japanese live-action film for the first time in 22 years, bringing in 17.87 billion yen in box-office revenue and a total audience of 12.31 million. Shuichi Yoshida, author of the original novel, has described the film as a "once-in-a-century epic of artistic devotion," and the film has been selected as Japan's official submission for the Best International Feature at the 98th Academy Awards in the U.S.

This exhibition commemorates these achievements, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the film and to further experience its appeal through a series of displays, for a firsthand encounter with the extraordinary excitement surrounding 'KOKUHO.'

Exhibition of Photos Showing the Iconic Scenes That Brought the World of 'KOKUHO' to Life

On B2, the exhibition presents photographs capturing some of the film's most iconic scenes. This includes the powerful moments depicting the struggle over the succession of the Tanbaya house between⁠ ⁠Kikuo Tachibana (Toichiro Hanai), portrayed by Ryo Yoshizawa, and Shunsuke Ogaki (Hanya Hanai), portrayed by Ryusei Yokohama. Through these photos, visitors are invited to reflect on the kokuho (National Treasure)-worthy performances that brought the world of 'KOKUHO' to life.

We will also present, for the first time, the posters that appear in the performance as part of the exhibition. Additionally, we will offer for sale the official 'KOKUHO' merchandise, which is a first for this production.

Immerse Yourself in the World of 'KOKUHO' Through a Special Space Featuring Spatial Sound Technology

On 3F, visitors can enjoy the 'KOKUHO' theme song, "Luminance"—composed by Marihiko Hara, with lyrics by Miu Sakamoto, and featuring Satoru Iguchi of King Gnu—in a space that features Sony's high-definition Crystal LED display* and spatial sound technology, alongside footage from the film. Enjoy the delicately constructed world of the film in this specially designed environment.

*A high-resolution LED display capable of displaying immersive, ultra-clear video, and that can be configured into large screens of various shapes and sizes.

The theme song 'Luminance' and the main footage are screened in an exhibition room with dimmed lighting. In front of the screen, a red bench has been provided, creating a space where visitors can sit and enjoy the viewing.

The Film 'KOKUHO' Special Exhibition "5/513 Days" Ryo Yoshizawa × Shunya Arai

On 4F will be a concurrent exhibition titled "5/513 Days" Ryo Yoshizawa × Shunya Arai, held as the Film 'KOKUHO' special exhibition. This photo exhibition presents a carefully curated selection of original photos from the five days that photographer Shunya Arai followed Ryo Yoshizawa on set—out of the 513 total days that the lead actor spent preparing for and the Filma 'KOKUHO.'

Please enjoy the portrayal of Kikuo by Ryo Yoshizawa through the photographs. Additionally, we will also be selling original merchandise (clear files).

Summary

A man destined to become a National Treasure, born into a yakuza family.

Kikuo, blessed with an otherworldly beauty, loses his father in a violent conflict
and is taken in by Hanjiro Hanai, the head of a prestigious Kamigata kabuki family.

Thrown into the world of kabuki, Kikuo meets Shunsuke, Hanjiro's biological son and heir apparent whose future has been promised to him since birth.

Two men born of entirely different bloodlines, with contrasting upbringings and talents.
